Dear Reader, Wanna know my biggest takeaway from 2024? It’s proof that mindset shifts really do work. (or did you think I was going to say it's the importance of 💤 rest ? 😂) This year, I’ve been working on one specific mindset shift: moving from a sense of lack to one of abundance. 🌟 It happened when I was confiding my fears of my last pregnancy to a friend. She wisely pointed out how our default mode often operates from a place of lack & fear. She explained that when challenges come our way, we often go to the “I don’t have enough [money, time, energy, space - you name it]” way of thinking. She was right. These thoughts are so common, especially during pregnancy or when you’re welcoming a new baby. Have you ever thought: It’s a perfectly natural worry, but it’s just a default mode. The good news? What if you shifted your focus from:
Because there is enough love, enough space and enough energy to share. 💖 Let me share a moment when I realized this shift was actually working: Last month, the government accidentally gave us a €2000 subsidy. We had to pay it back, but they allowed us to repay it in installments. The old me would have sighed: But this time, I saw it differently. I told my husband: Even he, Mr. Optimism himself, hadn’t thought of it that way! I still have a long way to go, but experiencing these tiny shifts are changing how I show up every day. So here’s my short holiday message to you:Start noticing. Becoming aware is the first step, and from there, magic happens. 🌈 (Meditation and stillness are great tools for this, by the way!) And one more thing: The holidays are just that: holidays. If you’re pregnant or caring for little ones, don’t let high expectations weigh you down. 🎄 What’s your biggest takeaway from 2024, Reader? Hit reply, I'd love to read them. Sending love to you and your family, Krish ❤️ |
Hi Reader, I've been going through a period where I can't even sit in silence for one minute without feeling overwhelming anxiety creep in. As someone who teaches yoga and meditation, this feels particularly embarrassing to admit. But it's not the usual mum overwhelm. Hi Reader, A few weeks ago my eldest two wandered into the bedroom where I was resting. My 6 year old whispered to her younger brother "Shhh, Mama's resting." And then they both walked out. I smiled. And then I nearly cried. Just a year ago, I would have never allowed myself this "luxury" during the day, frantically using every spare minute for chores instead. This is why my conversation with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli touched me so deeply. She explained that our bodies naturally operate in cycles...
